WHD at Barpeta Cancer Care Centre
World Hypertension Day 2024 was celebrated at Barpeta Cancer Centre in association with the IAPEN India Guwahati Chapter on May 17th, 2024. Posters were exhibited in the OPD waiting area, and blood pressure screenings were conducted for OPD patients and their attendants. A total of 25 people were screened during the event.Dt. Johann Marak delivered an informative talk on hypertension, which included an interactive session with the audience present.
Celebration of WHD, 24 at Narayana Super Speciality Hospital
On May 17th, 2024, World Hypertension Day was celebrated at Good Health Hospital, Guwahati, in collaboration with the IAPEN India Guwahati Chapter. Dr. Manash Ghosh, Dr. Irshad Ali Ahmed, and Dr. Aparajita Barman delivered awareness talks on hypertension, while Ms. Sanghita Thakuria presented on the DASH diet. Additionally, students from the Nursing School of Good Health Hospital performed a play to raise awareness about hypertension.

Health Day celebration at Barpeta Cancer Centre
On April 7th, 2024, the IAPEN India Guwahati Chapter, in collaboration with the Barpeta Cancer Care Centre, celebrated World Health Day. The event included nutrition education sessions for cancer survivors, conducted by Ms. Johan, a Dietician from the Barpeta Cancer Care Centre. Additionally, Mr. Sudarsana Gaurachandra Dasa, a Spiritual Leader and Motivational Speaker from ISKCON, delivered a talk on the importance of spiritual healing for cancer survivors. The vote of thanks was given by Dr. Thamizholi S., President of the IAPEN India Guwahati Chapter.
World Health Day celebration at H.P.B. Girls' College
As part of the World Health Day celebration, on April 6th, 2024, the IAPEN India Guwahati Chapter, in collaboration with the Department of Community Science and the Health and Wellness Club of H.P.B. Girls’ College, Golaghat, organized a cooking contest on the theme “Healthy Lunch Box” for the college students. On April 8th, 2024, an essay competition was held among the students on the World Health Day theme for that year, “My Health, My Right.” The following day, April 9th, 2024, a documentary screening highlighting “the role of nutrition in overall health” was presented to the students.
